About

My current practice is based in Reading, and apart from a small number of years after student days living in Germany, I’ve been in this area for 20 years.

I studied modern foreign languages and spent time working for a relief and development charity in London. In mid-life, sparked by some workshops on couple dynamics, I became interested in the impact of ‘systems’ (cultural, family of origin, organisational and our own internal system) and what lies at the heart of our motivation and drives. I subsequently decided to embark on a counselling course.

Now holding an MA (Distinction) in Integrative Counselling , I find it a privilege to walk alongside others – listening, learning, attending to present experience and often looking back in order to look forwards again with new goals.

What others have said about me is that I bring a sense of calm to situations, allow people to slow down, settle and ‘be’ with themselves and also with the world around them and with the people they care about.

I’m fascinated by the inter-relationship between our physical body, our inner drives (the ‘heart’ motivations) emotions, thoughts, behaviours and how these connect with what is going on around us in our environment – the various ‘systems’ of our lives.

Sometimes we just need space and time to connect with what is going on within ourselves and the outside world – to try to make sense of experience with someone who has time to devote solely to you. With a collaborative approach, where you are the expert on yourself, I hope to come alongside, reflect and offer breathing space where different perspectives might be explored and mindsets might be ‘flexed’.
